The Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a heritage-listed zoological garden that was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on September 2009. Would you like to explore this popular Gold Coast destination?
Not only will you enjoy their shows, but you will also learn much valuable information from the available encounters. Here is a list of what shows to see and experience at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.
Get up close & personal: There are various encounters at the sanctuary where you can meet the world's largest rodent, cuddle a Possum or have your photo taken.
Are you interested in behind the scenes access? The Koala "Behind the Scenes" Experience gives the opportunity to meet Australia's biggest icon and learn about its features, habitat and more. How about a Bird Training Experience? Not only will you see it firsthand, but you also get to learn from the experts.
Want an adventure? The sanctuary also has a Segway Safari where you get to ride a, you guessed it, Segway and enjoy a fully guided Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary tour. Or, take the TreeTop Challenge! There are 80 adrenaline-pumping TreeTop challenges which include 11 ziplines.
Explore the shows: Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary has numerous awesome daily shows. Start by viewing the beautiful lorikeets and feeding them. Then meet more beautiful species of birds at the Wildskies Free Flight Bird Show.
Make sure to also pass by Blinky Bill's Studio for the All-New Blinky Bill Adventure Show. Hope you don't have herpetophobia as the sanctuary has a Big Fang Theory show where you can learn about the incredibly diverse range of Australian reptile species.
In the afternoon, experience the Australian outback as their “Gun Shearer” shears a sheep! Then head on to the Crocodile Behaviours Show. And lastly, celebrate the rich local Aboriginal culture at the Aboriginal Dance Show.
Experience dining at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary: There are different dining options available at the sanctuary. There is the Sanctuary Cafe which is located near the entrance of the Sanctuary. The cafe offers a relaxed and casual atmosphere perfect for breakfast and lunch. Their menu consists of café style staples, hot and cold beverage options and a variety of savoury and sweet snacks.
There is also the Wild Burgers which is located in the heart of the Sanctuary adjacent to the Wild Island. Their menu consists of burgers, fish & chips, fried chicken, sandwiches and salad wraps.
